The above map circa 1883-1884 is taken of the area that would become homes to some of the streets of Cotteridge - Frances Road, Breedon, Shirley, Heathcote and Dell Roads and further south - Cotteridge, Laurel (Stanley), Holly and Midland Roads. It is interesting to note that the Birmingham and West Suburban Branch of the railway line that encircled Frances, Breedon and Heathcote Roads at 1901 had not yet been built.
